Alissa Walser

Alissa Walser (1961) studied fine art in Vienna and New York, and she has been working as an author and a translator since 1990. As well as publishing collections of short stories and plays, she also writes novels. She has won a number of grants and awards for her literary work, including the Ingeborg Bachmann Prize (1992), the Bettina von Arnim Prize (1992) and the Spycher Literaturpreis (2010) the Hertha König Prize (2011) and the George Konell Prize (2012). Alissa Walser is a member of the German PEN Centre.
